Girls Capsule Wardrobe for Spring: Key Staples for toddlers, tweens and teens

As a mom of two boys, this was REALLY fun for me to put together. I always love seeing all of the girl clothing in stores so getting to pull together a spring capsule and outfit ideas was especially fun. If you’ve been following me for awhile you’ve likely seen my women’s capsule wardrobes and I hope this will be just as helpful. I recently shared the first ever boys capsule wardrobe for spring and this is very similar, except for girls! My goal with the capsule is to help make it easier for moms to shop, keep up with the laundry and get kids dressed. Its a great way to reduce your mental load.

BASIC SHORT SLEEVE T-SHIRT

I recommend 5 short sleeve t-shirts for spring. A french stripe and white are a great foundation, then add in pastels like this purple and a similar pink or a fun print in the same colorway. Anywhere you see a short sleeve t-shirt, you can sub one of the 4 recommended long sleeve t-shirts for cooler spring days.

CASUAL DRESS

I recommend 2 casual dresses for the girls spring capsule wardrobe. If your girl is more of a dress lover, then you can swap some of the shorts for more casual dresses. I love the dresses paired with leggings for cooler days too. I recommend a neutral dot or stripe dress and one solid color dress.

CASUAL SHORTS

I recommend 5 pairs of casual shorts for the girl spring capsule wardrobe. I would start with a denim or chambray and a khaki or linen short as a base before adding in colors of a similar pallet to your t-shirts and dresses.

I recommend an one extra layer to keep warm on cooler spring days. A solid color in the same color pallate or neutral sweatshirt is a great option for this capsule piece.

I love a denim jacket as an extra layering piece for spring. It is such a versatile piece that goes great with shorts, leggings and dresses.

I recommend 4 pairs of leggings for the girls spring capsule wardrobe. I love that leggings can be worn as a layering piece under a dress or on their own with a tshirt and denim jacket.
